Prints: Flowers and Tubes

Taking my first baby steps into the world of print.

I got really frustrated by the definition I was getting from the web versions of 32: Tube Clock and 33: Valentine, so I tried a few with the resolution turned up to 11. I started playing with 1000×1000, then 2000×2000, then bigger, bigger, BIGGER.

You’re looking at these cropped and scaled down for a 72dpi screen so it loses all that definition I’ve gained. But, trust me, they look pretty good when you see them full size.

I have a technical question about your high-resolution images (for printing).

The web versions suffer from aliasing and moire’ patterns that is unavoidable when drawing many thin lines sequentially, … as you do in your sketches.

How did you overcome this problem in your higher-resolution sketches? Can you make the source code available for high-resolution sketches?

    thanks in advance,
    David Jones

    Hi Matt,
Is it possible that you can share the source of this one for us?
I would really like to understand that kind of code of High-Res Images printing… I would be a great help!

    Thanks a lot!

Have you noticed how the bottommost image seems to shrink when the page is scrolled and snap back into place when it is still?

    I think you’re a damn genius, sir.
